I must admit, we only really visit the toy department with our 4yr old, but we love it. Plenty of choice and also a little cafe right next to it too. The staff are friendly and helpful. To be honest, having recently not been as impressed as hoped in Harrods toy dept in London, I actually prefer Martells toy dept by a long shot. Perhaps not quite as much choice, but not far off. But the layout and space and thoughtfulness of the customer experience is much higher.
Martells is a very diverse fish. The store recently moved to London Road. Furniture seems expansive and eventually bought a Scrabble board for 20.
A nice environment with helpful staff. The toy dept. is pretty good but nothing like as well stocked as it was in the old store. No Hornby or Scalextrix for example.
I thought that moving the store it would lose some of that department store magic, bit I thinks it will do just fine. A important shop for East Grinstead.
The new location is a vast improvement on the last and it even has a spacious cafe with a great choice on the menu. It looks immaculately clean at the moment so let's hope they keep up the high standard.
