Absolutely dreadful quality of mechanical work taking 1 year 5 months to rebuild an MG TD engine. I constantly had to chase this job up, in the end helping finish off the job myself just to get my car back. Engine block damaged by using incorrect bolts plus they drilled a hole right through the block when removing the ID plate. The engine was stripped again after less than 2 hours running to fix an oil leak only to find that the bearing shells were completely scored. Parts were lost and damaged and a bill for £3,994 but no apologies from the ill-tempered garage owner. Classic Car owners deserve better than this. Avoid.
I em happy to the garage, because they are very good working and nice repair the car. Thenk you. Maria
Great garage. Got a quote on bodywork, left the car with them and they have fixed it quicker and cheaper than quoted. To be honest you do not see that everyday. Prices are good for this area.
Heard really good things about this place so i booked my car in for some bodywork repair to my front wing and bumper. They told me the work would take 3 days. 15 days later I'm chasing them and the work was finally ready. Unfortunately the work was contaminated with silicone and there were 'fisheyes' everywhere in the clear coat. They agreed there were issues and agreed to re do the work.Again ... unfortunately they couldn't remove all the faults so agreed to respray the clear coat again. Upon collection I noticed that there containments in 2 areas of the new clear coat. They again agreed that there was an issue and agreed to remove the contaminants. So, eventually I ended up with a quality repair but I had to take the car back to them too many times to achieve this.My headlight washers also stopped working when they removed my front bumper to respray it and they had the cheek to say that they wanted me to pay the diagnostic time to fix it. Needless to say the headlight washers stopped working due to the work that they had carried out.The fact that I have a dash-cam in the car and one of their employees can be easily heard saying (while looking at an issue to the paintwork on the bumper) 'do you think we will get away with this' to his colleague who replies 'no, he''ll probably spot that' clearly shows the shortcuts employed here. The names they also call me for wanting a good job done aren't pleasant and I won't repeat them on here. Its a shame as the end result to the repair is actually quite good, its just a shame they have terrible quality control and obvious shortcuts employed in the hope that customers won't notice.
Still haven't had a quote on my car that has been inspected for a restoration. Probably thought I couldn't afford the cost of the job and so dismissed me. Shame though as I've only heard good things about this place, but the service I've received was bizzare and unprofessional. Will be talking my business elsewhere. Good for a drive by though, they have some lovely cars.
Tony is very friendly and explained things to me clearly. He did a great job and fixed all that was necessary within a short space of time.
